\nDescrip tion Nevehttp://www.nevebros.com/ Brothers is probab ly a place you have never visited. It is a commercial cut flower grower. Y ou have probably bought some of their products at local retail outlets. Th eir footprint in the local area is larger (and less visible) than you migh t expect. They have two football-sized facilities\; one just west of Petal uma and one is on Roblar Road\, on the way to the shore. Read about the hi story of the family and their business that you have probably never heard of\, right here.
\nMee t at 3 pm at 2645 Bodega Avenue\, Petaluma (see attached map). There is a small sign at the entrance and go all the way down the driveway to the end where there is a parking lot. We will assemble there for 10 minutes and t hen go to the rose greenhouse. If you plan to go\, be on time. If you are late\, call me and I will come out and get you. This is a busines s area where they don’t want persons just wandering around.
\nWe wil l go into the rose greenhouse that is north of the parking lot. It is a bi g area with lots of narrow rows of growing rose plants. This is a good pla ce for jeans and tighter fitting tops. The footing can be slippery with wa ter and moss on some pathways. Everyone has to exit by 5 pm.
\nGear to bring. Best lenses will be walk-around ~25-105 mm or a macro. There is overhead lighting. Flash is also fine but use it judiciously\; don’t fry y our neighbor’s shot. A tripod is useful but a monopod is even better for t ight rows.
\nThis is a dumb statement\, but treat their garden like it was yours\; try not to break any stems.
\nAfter the outing\, plea se sort through your images that you will post for the Zoom meeting on the 13th\; please have them uploaded by the 11th. W ith your permission\, I will forward a set of them to the Neve family for their use. Please do not watermark your images.
