It is a commercial cut flower grower. You have probably bought some of their products at local retail outlets. Their foo tprint in the local area is larger (and less visible) than you might expec t. They have two football-sized facilities\; one just west of Petaluma and one is on Roblar Road\, on the way to the shore. Read about the history o f the family and their business that you have probably never heard of\, ri ght here.\n Meet at 3 pm at 2645 Bodega Avenue\, P etaluma (see attached map). There is a small sign at the entrance and go a ll the way down the driveway to the end where there is a parking lot. We w ill assemble there for 10 minutes and then go to the rose greenhouse. If y ou plan to go\, be on time. If you are late\, call me and I will come out and get you. This is a business area where they don’t want persons just wa ndering around.\nWe will go into the rose greenhouse that is north of the parking lot. It is a big area with lots of narrow rows of growing rose pla nts. This is a good place for jeans and tighter fitting tops. The footing can be slippery with water and moss on some pathways. Everyone has to exit by 5 pm.\nGear to bring. Best lenses will be walk-around ~25-105 mm or a macro. There is overhead lighting. Flash is also fine but use it judicious ly\; don’t fry your neighbor’s shot. A tripod is useful but a monopod is e ven better for tight rows.\nThis is a dumb statement\, but treat their gar den like it was yours\; try not to break any stems.\nAfter the outing\, pl ease sort through your images that you will post for the Zoom meeting on t he 13th\; please have them uploaded by the 11th. With your permission\, I will forward a set of them to the Neve family for their use. Please do not watermark your images.
