Introduction We are st ill emerging from Covid and have our own individual sense of risk assessme nt. The flexibility built into this trip is to tailor it to your needs. Th e write-up below is oriented the people who feel they are less at risk: ri de the ferry and get there for early light. On the other hand\, if it is m ore convenient to drive\, don’t take the ferry. If people want to go on an other day\, they can.
\nDescription The main ev ent is scheduled for March 17. The Larkspur ferry will allow participants to leave as early as 6:35 and arrive at the Ferry Building by about 7:10. For those who are challenged by seasickness and decide to drive\, there ar e many parking garages nearby to the Ferry Building. For people who feel t hat early hours are for the birds\, please arrive later. Call around and f orm your own posse.
\nUpon early arrival\, it is suggested that ever yone meet in front of the main Golden Gate Transit Building in the rear of the ferry building. From there\, we can break into small groups and go of f to explore the area. Later arrivals can check in with Tony (847-778-6989 ) to find out where the early birds have migrated to.
\nIt is truly a target rich environment:
\n< p>– meander the ferry building shooting the wares\n– sit across the street from the building and capture some of the local fauna moving by
\n– walk the street and absorb the arc hitecture
\n– try shooting shadows or movement
\n– or \, when you are aboard\, step to the ferry rail\, and shoot the prisons\, the bridges\, boat traffic and the city city from the water
\nAround 11:30\, we will all meet for lunch at Gott’s at the Ferry Buildin g. We can eat outdoors there. After lunch\, people can continue shooting o r grab a ferry back home. There are 2 return ferries in the afternoon.
\nTravel light\; bring as little as possible so you last longer and are not a target for the occasional bad guy.
\nAnd please remember\, if the fog is heavy\, you are a winner. EVERYTHING is different and more dra matic. Just wear an extra layer of clothes.
\nPlease let me know if you plan to attend.
\nAfter the outing\, p lease sort through your images that you will post for the Zoom meeting on the 25th\; please have them uploaded by the 23rd.
