Local Photographer Francyne Kunckel will lead a Sonoma Coast photo safari on Saturday, July 13th. She will be sending more info soon and I will forward it to you. Please, please carpool! Carpools will be organized at Finley Community Center that morning. The group will head to Goat Rock and travel south to Lucas Wharf, with several stops along the way. Lunch will be at Lucas Wharf. Here’s a link to their website showing their “favorite” dishes. https://lucaswharfrestaurant.com/favorites Once I get it from Francyne, I’ll send out info on what time to meet at Finley.
Leaderless: Rivertown Revival, Petaluma – Saturday, July 20th, 11 am to 8 pm on the McNear Peninsula at Steamer Landing Park. Admission is $15 and their website is https://www.rivertownrevival.com.
Any photos shot at this year’s fair between 8/1 and 8/11 will count as field trip photos. The group day for this event will be Friday, 8/9/19 (Senior Free Day).
We’ll meet at 4:00 pm at the main entrance, shoot for a couple of hours, meet in the food court for dinner, then shoot again as the impulse moves us.
Next to Schollenberger Park in Petaluma; right on Cader Lane off Hwy 116 South, cross North McDowell directly into the parking lot. Meet at 4:30, shoot until 7:00, dinner to follow at restaurant TBD. Carpooling strongly encouraged, as the parking lot is extremely small. A Google search of “birds at Ellis Creek in August” yielded a ton of information about which birds were there last year at this time. Here’s a link:

Please RSVP to Trisha and Joel if you plan to join us. Please meet at the Park and Ride lot next to Johnny’s Java at 4:00 pm to form carpools. We’ll organize dinner somewhere nearby after the field trip.
Meet near the Brookwood entrance at 9:00 am. Expo runs until 9:00 pm, so feel free to come at your own convenience if the morning doesn’t work for you. Group lunch at noon; meet up at the Mexican Village picnic tables under the shelter.
This is an exciting event with a lot to see and photograph. From speedy jets to old-fashioned prop planes, parachutists, and walk-about tours of many different types of aircraft, the photographic opportunities are many and varied. Get there early for a front row seat! The event happens both weekend days, and both will count for this field trip.
NOTE: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS SATURDAY NIGHT
Several of us plan to attend the festival in Lodi November 1-3, and have started signing up for tours. The plan is to go there for a Saturday tour, stay overnight, and do an early morning fly-out tour Sunday morning. The Festival web site, linked below, has 16 pages of tour descriptions. The tour I signed up for was already half full. There are several hotels near central Lodi; see the festival website for details.
Members get to judge all the images submitted to the competition that were taken on the various field trips.
The end of year preview of the winning images from this year. The winners will be announced at the annual banquet on December 12th. We will also have a used equipment sale with all proceeds going to the club’s renovation fund.
