We now have an official entry process for our Photo Magic show Oct 22-Nov 27, 2022 at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.
– Photos should reflect something you would enter in the Creative division of our competitions.
Steve Muench has set up a gallery (the upload process is the same as for Field Trips) for these entries that is open now and will remain open until Monday, 8/29/22 at 11:59pm.
The Sebastopol Center for the Arts will handle the exhibit sales. 40% of the sales price will go to the Center, so keep this in mind when pricing your work.
There will also be an entry fee to cover our $500 rental fee for the space. It will be approximately $20-$25 for the first entry, and $5-$10 for each additional entry. The exact fee will depend on the number of participants, and the number of pieces that can fit in the space. You will receive a notification in September indicating which of your pieces have been accepted, what your fee will be, and instructions on how to pay.
Selected images will then need to be framed or in some way ready for hanging and brought to the Sebastopol Center for the Arts on October 18th (hours tbd). Black frames and white matting are encouraged, but not required, or your images may be printed on metal or canvas. If you need help framing, let me (Ellen Storz) know and we can arrange a workshop.
The image labels will be developed from information you provide with your entry. If you wish to sell your printed images at the exhibition, you will need to enter a price with the label info. Your images may be designated NFS if you want only to show them but not sell them.
In “My Image Library”, edit the Title as follows:
To add your label info: copy and paste the following 5 lines into the title field (you aren’t limited to 200 characters; try to be brief):

…and then complete each line with the following:
Choice #: Submit up to 3 entries, indicating your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices (enter a 1, 2 or 3 here)
Title: “my title”
Inspiration: Short statement about your inspiration, where it was taken, how it was processed, etc.
Photo Information: Print and frame Size, medium (paper, canvas, metal, etc.), and year taken
Sales Price: $$ or NFS

Select “Uploads for Sebastopol Exhibition” , click the “Edit and and Upload Images” button and select images as you would for a competition,

It’s not an actual competition, it’s just a place to upload the digital version of the exhibition prints. The exhibition committee will make the final selections and I’ll export the info in the Title fields to generate exhibition labels.
Deliver Ready to Hang Artwork to the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Sebastopol, CA 282 South High Street, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm Wednesday, 10/20/22. Please feel arrange with another member or a friend to have your prints delivered if the time and/or date are not convenient.
Exhibition Dates: Saturday, 10/22/22 thru Sunday, 11/27/22 Hours 10 AM – 4 PM Thurs – Sundays
Opening Reception: Saturday, 10/22/22 2:00 to 4:00 pm This will be combined with a social activity for the entire group – meet at Hopmonk after the reception – organized by Elizabeth Springs.
Pick up Artwork on Monday, 11/28/22 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm
