I have read several articles about the new noise reduction in LRC and Ps but despite updating the programs I still do not seem to be getting it. I have looked online and can’t find any resolution. Does anyone know what is happening on this subject?

The new remove tool seems to be only on the beta Ps so far.

        Hi Terry,

Good to see that I am now getting notifications from the Forum when there is a new post. Maybe a photo critique forum would be viable now that this has been corrected!

Regarding your question, I just updated LRC this morning and found the new “Denoise” button at the bottom of the Detail Panel. It seems to only work with Raw images, in my case .ARW. It doesn’t like .jpeg or even .dng.

I did a quick test and it does seem to help remove noise with one AI click.

However, I compared the result to Topaz Photo AI, and found the result to be significantly lacking compared to the Topaz result.

        Hope that helps!

        Herb

3U0A7853-Enhanced-NRI echo your thoughts about a critique addition. I was so glad to see someone had actually responded to my question too.

I also read that at this time it only works with Raw. The problem is I don’t seem to be able to get it with either LrC or Ps and I am using Raw files. If I go through Camera Raw in Bridge I get it but then I add a whole step to transporting it after into Ps and I still do not get it in LrC. All my Raws are out of the camera to LrC. I feel like I must be missing something but for the life of me I don’t know what?

I have updated to what says it is the latest, but it simply does not show up in either LrC or Ps. It does show up in Bridge. ????? Frustrating.

Really appreciate your feedback here 🙂

I don’t know what changed but I now have noise. No new update, just decided to work.
